Design Your Life Holistically

There has always been this little part of me that kept going back to comfort foods, back to functional training, back to the basics. I am holistic. It's a truth I think I knew even when I was a young girl. I have learned that I know my truth better than any other, I just need to listen for it. And of course I then need to listen to that truth, which is the difficult part sometimes. I finally realized one day that my purpose was simple... I heal... I create. Heart, soul, muscle, mind.

When I was designing and business coaching almost two decades ago I think I often felt this lack of spirit involved. Coaching with some of the large corporations I worked with was the hardest because they didn't care about their soul. This was frustrating, although led to an easy program creation process that unfortunately left me feeling sad inside for the way we run our businesses. Yet for me, coaching a person with dreams, purpose, desires; that is what moves me. It is what connects my heart song to my destiny... and if you get what I mean then you know why you are here.

I don't know if I transformed who I am because of my past or not, however aren't we all a part of a long journey that starts somewhere with a big BANG! As a teenager that is all I had to keep me going, those little hopes and dreams. My mom went back to work, my sister grew up and had friends that were totally cooler than her older sister was, and at school was sort of the spaz of the group of friends that I hung out with. My mom worked sixty plus hours a week, I felt alone a lot of the time. I filled that loneliness with something that we often all do, food. It wasn't truly nourishment, and that is where I started to learn. I learned about the truth of anti-nutritional comfort foods, inflammation, allergies and it took some time but it woke me up eventually. I saw what I knew was deep in my heart, a purpose to help others. Slowly I started to nourish that desire, and teach those nourishing truths to others.

I've learned to listen to my body, and create something that has soul power when it comes to food, and that the same is true of our business. You have to put it all out there on the table if you want to really make a difference in the lives of others, as well as your own life. You have to be who you are and share that. This has been the hardest thing for me to realize that through my fear, accept who you are, and share what you feel.

Train Fast

Over this last year I had a couple of very interesting A-ha moments, that even as a certified personal trainer and Holistic Lifestyle and Wellness Coach I was shocked about. I did a 90 day program that was almost all strength training, and I was shocked that I lost body fat, and trimmed down with just strength training. Then I went into a program that was a combination of cardio and max intervals. I love intervals. But when the program was throwing in 60 minutes of intensity on top of max intervals was killing my adrenals, and releasing an abundance of cortisol into my system... and that means more fat storage.

Business is just like that. You can't over do it. You end up feeling fatigued, and that desire slows. You don't always need all of the expensive bells and whistles, or the $10,000 programs to create something of substance.

Make your program something that gives you a smile and makes you feel like you are where you are meant to be. When you are second guessing it's a reason to stop and think. We are natural, and instinctive creatures and we need to learn that our internal abilities are often our greatest.  I sometimes like to go outdoors in the mud here in the forests. It brings me back to a place of sense and sensibility. Your business needs to be sensibly holistic, authentic, and you have to be able to functionally build it. I use my own guided business system called
H.I.I.T... {Holistic Integrative Interval Training} to train you to move fast into the business design of your lifetime in a way that won't overtax you systems!

Trust Your Purpose

There are shiny sparkling items around every turn. People would love me to be excited about on board with everything they are doing and trying, and what I've realized is that it's okay if I disagree with your point of view, or you disagree with mine. I have learned who I am, and I have gone through the trials of my life to be able to be here and share my soul purpose with someone that needs it. Every time I get a message like this one

{ You are an inspiration to me, truly you are and your sharing of your hard acquired knowledge is so appreciated by all of us in your days stream. thank you for caring about other people like you do. If more people loved their fellow man just a wee bit more it'd be a much better world for all of us. I love you Barb.}

Yes!! That is what it's all about!! I know that this works, and it will work for you too! Trust your internal truth and stop looking for something shinier. What you know is right, is! Go for it!
