Passion Is The Key To Follow Through

I was talking to someone yesterday about "passion". You know it takes time to figure out what your passion really is. A lot of times as moms we're told our passion must be our children. As dads it's that you have to be the worker bee. We don't have the ability to do both.

But we do!! 


I remember a conversation where my husband said once that he didn't want to bake bread for the rest of his life. And let me tell you that he was an amazing baker. Bread bakers from Italy wanted to bring him back to the motherland to work with them because he had a talent.

It wasn't his passion.

I remember I said, as I've said to many other clients over the years, "Then why do you have to??"

As Tony Soprano said, You have options!

Sensationalism Marketing

I have to admit, I get why people are so mad about the new Google Ranking Algorithms. It is going to change EVERYTHING. Instead of taking a subject that is a hot topic and writing something so sensational (regardless of the validity of the post) people will have to be honest and truthful in order to get that first page ranking.

A Google research team is adapting that model to measure the trustworthiness of a page, rather than its reputation across the web. Instead of counting incoming links, the system – which is not yet live – counts the number of incorrect facts within a page. "A source that has few false facts is considered to be trustworthy," says the team (arxiv.org/abs/1502.03519v1). The score they compute for each page is its Knowledge-Based Trust score.

So, does that mean that a blogger or a news story would have to be reputable rather than popular? And would that change the way we see the blogging industry moving?

I believe yes.

So what is the future of blogging going to be?

I see more and more of these types of blogs that want to pull you in like a story from High School, just to get shared, regardless of the truth. And as Mulder says, "The truth is out there." I personally want to see more truth and less hoopla.

But interesting concept is that then, if a product that a blogger is writing about isn't reputable, say a MLM product that doesn't do what it says it should; would that blogger be banished to the end rank results. The overall Google bias could affect all kinds of issues—gmo vs non gmo,  integrative or alternative approaches to medicine, as well as supplement use. I personally can see pros and cons, but I think that overall what we will see is more clinical research being shared, and less "I saw her moon everyone!" posts out there.

So what is SEO?

Technically speaking Search Engine Optimization. Many companies are out there that do this stuff for a living, but the best SEO is an organically grown one. You want an audience that connects with you when they arrive or it's not even worth it. Funnels have to work or they are useless. 

The objective of the various processes these professionals use is all about the influence on your positioning of your website or a webpage on the search engines so that they appear on keywords (also called requests), which correspond to the main themes of the site.

When you use the right blogging platform along with keywords, social sharing, and other online media options you start to build a blend of organic SEO that will bring those interested to you.

Here are two different examples of organic insight from Facebook. Both pages are being organically grown, no paid adverts. Very different number of total page likes, but look at the engagement and post reach!! That is where the magic happens. Connection isn't about the total, it's about the ones that are buying into your passion. This is about sharing yourself. 



This was one of the top engaged posts of the week... personal, touching, informational. This is what you want to use to build your SEO, your edge rank, your connections. Add in some uncomfortable sharing like creating youtube videos and then embed those into your blog and on your social media accounts. What are you waiting for.
